INTRODUCTION
Carlos Antonio’s sculptural work reflects a quiet intensity — the resonance of form, material, and memory. His Desiertoseries distills the shifting atmosphere of the desert into tactile compositions made from clay, travertine powder, marble powder, and natural pigments. The surfaces are hand-applied, then left to cure outdoors — as they would in nature — connecting each piece to its elemental origins. These are works that reveal themselves slowly: meditative, organic, and grounded in ritual.

BIOGRAPHY
With a background in fashion and interior design, Carlos Antonio entered the art world through his own creative projects before expanding into curatorial collaborations, where he guided the art and accessories within other designers' spaces. As both artist and curator, his aesthetic brings together organic elements and clean modern lines — an approach rooted in the fundamentals of the Bauhaus movement. The result is a refined contemporary language with an appreciation for antique and vintage forms — a practice Antonio describes as “contemporary with soul.”
The galleries he partners with reflect a fervent love for art, sculpture, and objects — places where he can share the thoughtful and considered work of other makers alongside his own. His deeply personal relationship to materiality and process ultimately brought him full circle, evolving into the creation of his own sculptural series.
After years of experimenting with natural substances, the Desierto / Series emerged — a body of work now collected by noted figures in the art and design world. Most recently, Desierto Ingot extends this exploration through the addition of metal mesh, introducing transparency and structure into the work. These hybrid forms play with light, materiality, and scale, opening new possibilities for site-specific and large-scale installations.
