Explore modern beds in Los Angeles at GRAYE, where contemporary frames are designed to give your primary bedroom the right proportions, support, and visual weight. Our modern beds suit a range of room layouts, mattress sizes, and interior styles, from a streamlined platform bed to an upholstered bed with a substantial headboard. Each piece can shape how the rest of your bedroom comes together.

What does a desk have to do? Hold a screen at the right distance, keep cables out of sight, give papers and objects a place, and look as considered as the room around it. Office desks in Los Angeles homes and studios are chosen with all four in mind. GRAYE’s West Hollywood gallery presents Italian and European desks in wood, stone, glass, and metal, from a slim writing desk to a modular system with built-in storage. Come and sit at them, and plan the workspace with our design team.

The Office Desks Collection by How You Work

  • Writing desks. A writing desk is slim, light in form, and usually has a single drawer. The Era Scrittoio by David Lopez Quincoces pairs a walnut top with gunmetal grey legs and matte brass accents. The Bonnet by Marialaura Irvine has a soft, curved form and a Coccioperla finish.
  • Desks with storage. The Collector by GamFratesi sets apple tree wood drawers within a lead-effect metal structure. The Secret by Markus Schmidt has a solid oak structure with concealed cable management.
  • Executive and large desks. An executive desk in Los Angeles offices and home studios often combines a generous work surface with storage close at hand. The Modern by Piero Lissoni pairs a lacquer or wood veneer desk with a modular cabinet and Load-It shelving. The Rail by kaschkasch is a modular desk and storage system in a refined wood structure.
  • Sculptural desks. The Pebble by Lanzavecchia + Wai takes an organic, stone-inspired form in lacquer, marble, or glass.
  • Work tables. A table can serve as a desk. The Tense by Piergiorgio and Michele Cazzaniga has a thin profile and a lacquered structure. The Graft by David Lopez Quincoces pairs a wood veneer top with gunmetal grey legs. The Axy by Claudio Bellini is a metal table with integrated porting options.
  • A desk for the home. The Venti by 967Arch has an oak top on a metal structure, with optional cable management. A home office desk reads as furniture first, which suits a room that also serves as a library, guest room, or living space.

How to Size a Desk

A modern desk in Los Angeles homes tends to share space with a view, a bookcase, or a seating area, so measure the whole room before the desk.
  1. Work surface. A single user needs about 48 inches of width at minimum, and 60 to 72 inches gives room for a laptop, a monitor, and papers. Executive desks often run longer.
  2. Depth. 24 inches is workable, and 28 to 30 inches puts a monitor at a comfortable distance.
  3. Knee space. Look for roughly 24 inches of width and 27 inches of height under the desk.
  4. Chair clearance. Keep 36 to 48 inches behind the desk, and about 30 inches of walkway elsewhere.
  5. Cables. Plan where power enters the room. Concealed routing keeps the desk surface clear.

Materials and Construction

  • Wood: oak, walnut, and ash bring warmth, and veneer allows larger, more stable surfaces.
  • Stone and glass: marble and glass add weight or lightness to a sculptural desk.
  • Metal: a slim metal frame keeps the form light and the structure rigid.
  • Drawers and hardware: check how drawers run and close, since they are touched many times a day.

Customization and Lead Times

Several desks come in a choice of finish or surface. The Pebble is available in lacquer, marble, or glass, and the Modern in lacquer or wood veneer. Options vary by model, and our team will confirm what is possible. Lead times are 16 to 20 weeks, with an additional 2 to 4 weeks for customized orders.

Completing the Workspace

A desk is one part of the room. Pair it with a chair from our office collection, shelves for books and objects, cabinets for files, and a rug to define the area and soften the acoustics.
